SARAH ELIZABETH CROSSLEY
DESIGNER STATEMENT
I have always felt as though I was never great at one particular creative pursuit, but good at a bit of everything.
I seek progress and fulfillment through an intangible personal growth.
I crave the discovery of the unknown, to map the uncharted waters and dive deep into the depths of the human experience.
I discover my own contentment with each new experience; each new challenge drives me further out of my comfort zone.
I design to breakthrough the walls of inhibition, through the gaps in windows of time, through the divide that separates buying and being.
I create new spaces for beauty to live in, whether it is a frame, a brand, an experience or an object.
THESIS
CannaBliss is a product system that supports self-care for Canadian cannabis patients. There will be 450,000 new patients using cannabis as medicine by 2024, how we will provide for patients in need? Harmonizing new and existing resources, CannaBliss proposes that medicinal cannabis should be made available to patients through pharmacies across Canada. Utilizing pre-packaged cartridges with a portable medicinal vaporizer, CannaBliss is a simple, clean, portable, safe and disposable method of controlling dosage. Designed for patients who have little to no experience with cannabis as medication, this method not only optimizes the amount of medicine needed to create the desired effect, but is one of the healthiest and most effective ways to use medicinal cannabis. Packaging ailment specific strains means patients will never use the wrong medication again, and targets the top symptoms cannabis targets; spasticity, joint pain, stress, insomnia, nausea, and depression. Chronic and terminal patients are in pain and suffering while cannabis has proven to be healthy, safe and effective again and again. I want them to be able to imagine a world where Bliss is just a puff away
