DESIGN STATEMENT

My experience as a professional interior designer and furniture designer for two well established Toronto design firms has brought me to my current endeavor of rekindle. rekindle is a company based on supporting the important experiences we share with our close friends and family. All of these experiences are created using high quality, locally sourced, and crafted products that help bring people together and last generations. They are from natural materials,which age gracefully and transform over time. The design philosophy of rekindle is sustainability through long lasting products. These products can bed is assembled for easy repair, up cycling, and customization.

rekindle makes high quality housewares that last. We love heirloom products that get passed down through generations. Many of us have received an item from a special person in our lives that reminds us of them each time we look at it. The memories in these objects make us want to hold onto them,care for them, and never throw them away or replace them with something new. Our products support the relationships with the important people in our lives and the intimate interactions we share in the home.

rekindle uses high quality natural materials that look better with age, such as wood, metal, ceramic, glass, and leather. All of these materials develop a unique and authentic patina through use. In addition, our products are designed so that every component can be easily repaired or replaced.

rekindle is about increasing the quality of life through personal interaction.
